In an interview after the ceremony, the institution’s principal and programme manager Augustus Kaliati said they strive to equip students with skills to make them relevant in their respective areas of expertise.

“We know that there is stiff job competition in the country. We have equipped our graduates with entrepreneurial skills so that the main focus should not be job creation. We hope they will start small-scale businesses to enable them lead self-reliant lives and employ their colleagues,” he said.

In a separate interview, Technical Entrepreneurial Vocational and Training Authority (Teveta) service centre regional manager for the South, who was the guest of honour, Elliot Mulanje, urged the graduates to put the skills acquired to use.

On his part, Dapp Malawi head of programmes Moses Chibwana attributed the training institution’s success to good cooperation with various stakeholders.
