He said: “We embarked on this initiative because we firmly believe that ensuring public safety is not solely the duty of law enforcers. As a bank deeply ingrained in this community, our commitment lies in actively contributing to the betterment of our city, making it a more secure and prosperous place to reside, work and flourish in.

According to Chiphaso, a secure environment is the foundation of prosperity in any country and he said the donation will stimulate economic development and nurture trust besides providing a platform for individuals and businesses to thrive.

“Through our investment in these CCTV cameras, we are actively contributing to the future of our community where we aim to create an environment where families can experience a heightened sense of security, and businesses can thrive and prosper,” he said.

Officer-in-Charge for Blantyre Police Station, deputy commissioner Obrey Nyirenda, said the installation of CCTV cameras will improve security in the city.

“This significant donation from FCB will play a pivotal role in boosting security measures in Blantyre City, ultimately fostering a safer and more secure environment for its residents,” he said.
