First Capital Bank cricket sponsorship up to K4m

First Capital Bank (FCB) has reaffirmed its cricket sponsorship with a K4 million package, K500 000 more than last year’s financial backing.

During the announcement of the sponsorship increase in Blantyre on Friday, the bank’s brand manager Brian Mungomo said cricket remains a key passion  for some of their clients and they did not hesitate when  Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) approached them for support.

He said: “Over the years, we have been overwhelmed by the passion and excitement that cricket creates.

“So, this year, we are doing it with a sense of pride, having remained a faithful partner to cricket in Malawi. We hope that this partnership will continue to flourish.”

Mungomo added that they have tied the cricket sponsorship to their recently rolled out campaign that promotes FCB’s mobile banking application’s theme: Make time for what you believe in.

He said: “In today’s world, we continually search for lost time. This campaign seeks to highlight the fact that, as a bank, through the application’s convenience, we will enable our customers have more time to reach further, discover more and be focused on what really matters in business, family or their passion.”

MSC chairperson Farouk Ibrahim Nathanie, who was accompanied by his vice Iqbal Aboo and executive member Makbul Latif, thanked the bank for continued sponsorship. He said the competition, which comprises 16 teams, will throw off next weekend.
