If I were Goodall Gondwe
Former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice-president, I would be honest about the reasons for my decision to go back to active politics.
I would realise that telling people that one of the reasons I have returned to active politics is looting at Capital Hill, is not justifiable because it is on record that plundering of public resources started in 2005 when I was in government as finance minister and, therefore, I should not insult the intelligence of the people.
I would also appreciate, if I were the former finance minister that the rise in the standard of living came about partly because of bad economic policies during the time I was in government as a senior cabinet minister.
Perhaps, if I were the former finance minister, I would be forthright and tell the people in Mzimba North that after giving it a thought, I have realised that I still want to enjoy the benefits that go with politics such as power and perks from the august House.
I would swallow my pride and tell my party followers that I miss the influence and authority I enjoyed before announcing my retirement from politics; hence my decision to go back.
That is if only I were GG, fortunately I am not the good ‘ole man from Mzimba.
