I’ve not given up on Europe dream—Gaba
South Africa-based forward Frank Gabadinho Mhango says despite his age, he has not given up on his dreams to play in Europe before retiring.
The 32-year-old said in an interview that he believes he is still good to crack it in Europe.

“The hope is still there, I’m one of those who believes that age ain’t nothing but a number,” he said.
“In Europe they still sign players that are 30 and above as long as you prove yourself. Things happen, never give up. I still have belief in myself.”
Mhango, who won the Premier Soccer League golden boot while with Orlando Pirates in the 2019/20 season alongside Peter Shalulile with 16 goals apiece, underwent trials with Portuguese top-flight side Vitoria FC in 2018, but was not signed.
“I have now spent about 12 years here in South Africa and I would really love to play in Europe before I retire.
“It doesn’t matter where, as long as it is in Europe.”
Flames legend Ernest ‘Wire’ Mtawali who played in the French Ligue 1 for two seasons at Tolouse in the late 1990s, said Mhango can realize his dream owing to his fighting spirit.
Said the former Flames coach: “Of course, opportunities in Europe don’t come easily, especially in the top leagues, but Gaba is a fighter.
“He has a big heart and I like his attitude. That should be the spirit, he can make it.”
Meanwhile, the Flames striker has revealed that out of the seven clubs that he has played for in the South African flagship league, he has fond memories of time at Pirates.
The Marumo Gallants striker was quoted by FARPost.co.za as having said that, Mhango stated that Pirates made him feel good.
“So, it’s absolutely great and it shows that I have been here for a long and worthy time. I will never regret it. Playing at Pirates was fun; it’s a big team, and everyone wants to play for that team in the country.
“It was a great achievement to be able to play for them. And for me, it was the best moment that I had in the PSL, playing for Orlando Pirates,” Mhango told FARPost.
