The line-up for the Lab Enterprise Match Play quarter-finals is now complete and all the defending champions have sailed through in the quest to defend honours at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).

Edwin Chipala and Donbell Mandala emerged champions in last year’s doubles. Nestor Msowoya was the winner in singles match play whereas BSC golf captain Hudson Kantwanje was the champion in the individual stableford.

Chipala and Mandala are set to take to the greens against the pair of James Katunga and Atlee Nkhonjera. Chipala declared that they will go all the way to the finals. He, however, admitted that it will not be a stroll in the greens.

“This year’s tournament is tougher compared to last year, but we are determined to go all the way,” said Chipala.

To qualify for the quarter-finals, Chipala and Mandala beat the pair of Webster Kaunga and Kenam Siula in the second round.

In other doubles semi-final matches, Hitler Sigauke and his wife Siphethine will face the pair of Adriano Guarino and Andrew Santhe.

Interestingly, Sigauke and Guarino, who are both medical doctors, are workmates at Malamulo Hospital in Blantyre.

The Kalambule couple—Medson and Sophie—will take on Welkam Phiri and Sam Mwale, Mayamiko Kalizang’oma and James Chimwaza will take on Victor Jere and Tharang Makhecha.
