Lie on your bed and stop being crybabies

Listen to this article

Dear judge Mbadwa,

My lord, the shortage of fuel and the incessant power blackouts have in the past weeks made Tokha Are Liars a ready punching bag and rightly so, from those frustrated with the recent developments under their watch.

All sectors’ flags of progress have been flying at half mast as if the country were in some bereavement. The business sector, which should generate the now scarce forex, was the hardest hit just as was the health delivery service.

My lord, but in all this I was fascinated by the disclaimer attitude of one Tokha Are Liars partner, the group Tadeyo Mliyenda refers to as Ukapusa Tikulanda Mpando (UTM) otherwise known as sons and daughters of Sauli.

My lord, I am still trying to fathom what ideals do they really propagate because, in my opinion, they are gradually becoming the crybabies of Nyasaland politics.

If you have been following the narrative from their youthful faithful, sons and daughters of Sauli practise progressive politics so much that they are responsible for every good thing happening in Tokha but are not responsible for the failings of the same, how is that? Their averse to criticism is something akin to social anxiety disorder.

Anyone who tries to pump sense into their heads, including you judge Mbadwa, becomes a subject of public ridicule and an enemy of Sauli, but friends with Lazaro or People’s Demagogic Party (PDP).

My lord, as evidenced by events at a Ndirande rally, some Ukapusa Tikulanda Mpando supporters would rather opt out of the alliance because they don’t want to be seen as failures.

My lord, let me advise the sons and daughters. Stop being delusional and face the reality. Abandoning ship now because of challenges will not work to the advantage of your party. You will only go down in history as a group that feared to face its demons and wanted to sail in a land of milk and honey regardless (said differently othawa mavuto) and would that qualify you as favourites for 2025?

I don’t think the sons and daughters would, in opposition, as per the current perception displace PDP as most favoured party at this stage to replace Tokha.

My lord, governing is not for the faint hearted if Ukapusa Tikulanda Mpando is not ready to bring change from within then it has no business to claim it is the best thing to have ever happened to Malawian politics.

By joining Lazaro, my lord they made a bed and have to lie on it; hence they should stop being crybabies.

Two years in politics is long enough to make everyone realise Lazaro’s cockerels and Sauli’s are in this mess together. Osathawa.

This is my simple advice and I hope you will not do the usual to berate it

Regards,

John Citizen.
