“We are grateful for the excellent work you are doing for the council. Without your dedication, the council would not be able to carry out its day-to-day operations and achieve its development goals,” he said.
In her remarks, Njewa revenue collector Edda Matandika attributed the outstanding performance to teamwork, commitment and dedication among staff members.
“Every member of the team played an important role in ensuring that we surpass our target,” she said.
Despite the achievement, Matandika appealed to the council to address mobility challenges facing revenue collectors, saying officers cover long distances on foot to carry out their duties.
Responding to the concerns, Lilongwe district commissioner Stallichi Mwambiwa reaffirmed the council’s commitment to improving working conditions for revenue collectors.
Mitundu Revenue Centre came second and received a trophy and K1 million while Chadza Revenue Centre was third and received a trophy.
