HS Winehouse Beverages and Hospitality, makers of the CapeStars spirits range, held tasting sessions of their newly introduced brands in Lilongwe over the weekend.

The first activation event took place at Epic Lounge in Area 47 on Friday followed by a similar event at Epic Exclusive Club in Area 10 on Saturday and Lilongwe Golf Club yesterday.

During the three sessions, imbibers were given a chance to taste the three brands of the spirits; brandy, vodka and gin in their two variations of Camaradas and Frenzo.

Winehouse Beverages and Hospitality director Darlington Ndasauka said the development is a continuation of their efforts to increase awareness of their brand on the market and create demand.

“The response we got is more than we expected. We have received good feedback and reactions in as far as the demand for the product is concerned,” he said.

Ndasauka said they have planned similar activities across the country to reach out to more potential customers with the next event scheduled for Scalla’s Cafe in Blantyre this weekend.

Epic Entertainment director Yollam Kawanga said the two events added a unique fun on their platform as patrons were accorded a chance to sample the CapeStars spirits.

He said: “The experience has been massive in both joints. The patrons seem to have fallen in love with the brand and that is good for our business because that means increased demand of the product.”

One of the consumers who tasted the spirits for the first time Khuda Chibambo said the introduction of the brand is a sign of progress for Malawian-owned businesses.

“We should not just be on the receiving end when it comes to creating products that satisfy customer tastes. The CapeStars spirits are a testimony that as Malawians we can also do the best on our own and for our own people,” he said.
