TNM Super League Golden Boot awardee Vincent Chinthenga has signed a two-year contract with Mozambican top league side Ferrviario de Nampula having successfully completed week-long trials.

The Bvumbwe Research talisman confirmed having put pen to paper with the Mozambican club on Friday.

“I have signed a two-year contract with a signing-on fee of 150 000 meticais [about K2 million] which will be subject to review.

“For a start, I would say I am satisfied with the offer and I believe it could be a stepping stone for better things,” said Chinthenga who clinched the Super League top scorer award with 18 goals.

According to a well-placed source, Chinthenga has also been offered a 30 000 meticais [about K400 000] monthly salary.

Another Bvumbwe Research midfielder Rafiq Mussa has also been offered a similar deal by the same club.

However, as of Saturday, Nation on Sunday could not establish whether Bvumbwe will get anything from the deal

The duo will join a number of other top Malawian players who are playing in the Mozambican flagship football league such as Simplex Nthala, Joseph Kamwendo, Zicco Mkanda, Chiukepo Msowoya, Sankhani Nyirenda, Robson Banda, Lewis Minjale, Emmanuel Chipatala, Danga Mlelemba, Gerald Nkungula and Jimmy Chikulekule.

Three other Mighty Wanderers players—Moses Chavula, Gerald Chimbaka and Innocent Jere, and Big Bullets forward Godfrey Masondo are also currently on trials at Ferrviario de Nacala, a side coached by former Nomads coach Kannock ‘Bruno’ Munde.
