Malawian Airlines has sponsored return air tickets to Tanzania for two local professional golfers Paul Chidale and Adam Sailesi to take part in the Tanzania Open.

The tournament will run from November 29 to December 1 at Kili Golf Club in Arusha and the two golfers are scheduled to fly out today.

Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Malawi president Patridge Shycal yesterday said Malawian Airlines has also offered two other tickets at a 30 percent discount.

“We are grateful to Malawian Airlines for their gesture. This is not the first time they have done that and we do not take it for granted as they are playing a big role in exposing our professional golfers,” he said.

Sailesi (L) and Chidale are confident of doing well

The PGA president said subject to confirmation, Simon Moses and himself will get the other two tickets offered at a discount.

“Paul and Adam are scheduled to depart on Monday [today] and will have Tuesday [tomorrow] and Wednesday for practice,” he said.

Chidale and Sailesi also expressed gratitude to Malawian Airlines.

Said Chidale: “We have been preparing for this tournament for weeks and the gesture by Malawian Airlines is a timely morale booster.

“Personally, I am looking forward to a top-five finish because I am enjoying a rich vein of form.”

Chidale has made cuts in a number of tours since he turned professional last year..
