MBC 2 On The Go goes on DStv, GOtv
Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) newest channel MBC 2 On The Go has migrated to the digital satellite television (DStv) and GOtv platforms.
The development was unveiled yesterday during a joint press conference addressed by MBC and MultiChoice Malawi officials at MBC Area 4 Studios in Lilongwe.
They said the migration aims at expanding delivery of local content to viewers locally and internationally and also improving accessibility and enriching viewers experience.

MBC director general George Kasakula said the launch is a reflection of the broadcaster’s commitment to keeping up with viewer demands and enhancing service delivery.
“These changes are not just about numbers, they represent our commitment to making our content more accessible and convenient for all Malawians. Whether it is breaking news, cultural programmes
or entertainment, our viewers can now enjoy uninterrupted access,” he said.
Under the new arrangement, MBCTV 1 will now air on Channel 268 on DStv and Channel 15 on
GOtv, while MBC 2 On The Go is available on Channel 269 on DStv and Channel 16 on GOtv.
Kasakula said they will ensure that they live up to the expectations of the stakeholders by focusing on creating content that meets the needs of viewers.
“MBC 2 On The Go focuses on a youthful audience with sports and entertainment as its primary focal point. We will ensure high quality programming as we strive to reach a broader viewership,” he said.
On her part, MultiChoice Malawi managing director Averess Ndhlovu Chella expressed delight with the partnership which is supporting the growth of MBC from a single channel to a dynamic broadcaster.
“Local broadcasters are the backbone of the TV industry. With the addition of MBC 2 On The Go on the DStv and GOtv platforms we are confident that customers will enjoy the quality of local content,” she said.
Chella said the development will also promote Malawian culture through a variety of programmes, including news, documentaries, entertainment features and music.
The channels are accessible on Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family, and Access bouquets for DStv subscribers, as well as Lite, Value, Plus, Max, and Supa bouquets on GOtv.
