Mvula’s England deal extended
United Kingdom Netball Super League side Leeds Rhinos have extended Malawian star shooter Joyce Mvula’s deal by another year.
Mvula confirmed about her new deal before departure on Monday to join the team for pre-season training.
In a statement released at the weekend, Rhinos said they were excited to extend their romance with the Malawi Queens player.

Reads the statement: “Goal-shooting superstar Joyce Mvula returns to the Rhinos in 2025 for her second season with the club.
“The Malawian international was a Super League winner with Manchester Thunder in 2022 before signing for New Zealand side Central Pulse.
“During her six years at Thunder, she established herself as one of the competition’s best and most consistent shooters.”
In her debut season with the Rhinos last season, she scored 667 goals and was the fourth best in the league. She also won the Players Player and Coaches Player of the Year awards.
In 2019, the gangly shooter helped Manchester win the title, playing alongside current Rhinos coach Liana Leota.
“She scored an incredible 699 goals in 2021 to see her team through to the semi-finals and the following year topped this with 774 goals in Thunders’ Championship winning campaign,” the statement further reads.
Until a few days before her departure, Mvula was in camp with the Queens in preparation for the Spar Test Series against South Africa scheduled for next week.
She made her international debut in 2010 and last year she played in her fourth World Cup where she was one of the stand out performers in the competition, having previously shone in 2014 tournament with 216 goals
