New events centre in Xmas, Boxing Day fun
Scenic Events Centre, a new events centre in Ngumbe, Blantyre, has organises a number of activitied on Christmas and Boxing days to enable people have fun within the city.
Owner of the centre, Switzerland-based Malawian entrepreneur Manfred Chaponda, said in an interview on Tuesday that fun-seekers should not have to travel outside Blantyre when they can enjoy right within the city.
The centre, which has modern facilities, ample space and good scenery to enjoy with the family and friends, is within 15 kilometres from Blantyre central business district (CBD).
“You see, we have lost so many lives over the years during festive seasons like this due to mainly unnecessary road accidents which usually result from driving to far places leading to driver fatigue and exhaustion.
“Mixed with alcohol and festive excitement, the consequences are usually disastrous. It is time to break the trend, that is why Scenic Events Centre is emphasising on this theme ‘Have Fun But Keep It Local If You Can’,” said Chaponda, who is an aviation engineer at Switzerland International Airlines.
He said Christmas is time to have fun with family and friends; hence, they will be offering trendy music, mouth watering food, drinks and snacks while children will have fun playing their usual games amid scenic views and skyline. n
