Nico Life Insurance Company Limited last week presented certificates of recognition and presents to six employees who have served the company for ten years at a function held in Blantyre.

The six are Lilian Moyo, Brian Chigamba, Eurita Chirwa, Steven Kanyoza, Chimwemwe Kanyenda and Hilda Mwandisi.

Zigowa (L) presents the award to Kanyoza

Nico Life Insurance Company Limited chief financial officer Victoria Zigowa said the awards are aimed at appreciating services employees render to the company.

She said: “This will help young ones who have just joined the company to be motivated and at the same time encouraging members of staff to stay in one place for a long time.

“During the 10-year period, the employees have helped the company to make progress. From 2011, the company was registering a profit of K1 billion and now we have moved to a period where we are registering K9 billion profit.”

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Brian Chigamba, who is also the company’s human resource and administration manager, said the award is one of the few achievements one gets at the workplace.

“It is important for employers to appreciate the employees’ contribution to the business,” he said.

Each awardee received a certificate and cash equivalent to 20 bags of cement.
