Mighty Wanderers announced their return to 2013 TNM Super League form when they ended Red Lions’ unbeaten stretch with a 2-1 win at Balaka Stadium on today afternoon.

Benjamin Kalua had given the Lions, who were unbeaten in eight league games, a promising start with a goal only for Innocent Dzimbiri and Kondwani Kumwenda to claim two goals for Wanderers.

The Nomads jumped to fourth on 17 points from nine games, one point behind the Lions.

At the Kamuzu Stadium, Big Bullets strolled to a 5-0 hammering of rookies Mzuzu United whose players were the previous day assaulted by alleged Bullets supporters who barred the visitors from training.

It was thus hardly surprising that Bullets led 4-0 at half time with Chimango Kaira connecting a cross on the sixth minute before Diverson Mlozi added the second 10 minutes later followed by Dalitso Sailesi and Lawson Chilewe on the 24th and  27th minutes respectively.

It only got worse for Mzuzu after break as Douglas Chirambo curled in the fifth from a direct free-kick on the 78th minute. Bullets joined the Lions on 18 points, one behind second-placed Kamuzu Barracks and two behind leaders Blue Eagles.
