Nomads, Kaizer Chiefs discuss twinning
Be Forward Wanderers claim that South African football giants Kaizer Chiefs’ football manager Bobby Motaung is in the country to discuss possible twinning between the two teams.
Motaung arrived in the country on Thursday and watched the Nomads’ training at Africa Bible College (ABC) in Lilongwe later the same day ahead of this afternoon’s Carlsberg Cup final against their age-old rivals Nyasa Big Bullets.
The Nomads general secretary Mike Butao yesterday confirmed that Motaung is in the country as their visitor.
“He is here up to Sunday [tomorrow] on social and business trip.
“One of the issues we are discussing is twinning of the two giant clubs,” he said.
However, Butao was elusive on whether Motaung’s ‘social’ trip includes scouting of players.
The Glamour Boys’ boss could not be reached for comment yesterday.
The Nomads technical director and legend Jack ‘Africa’ Chamangwana captained and then coached Amakhosi in the 1980s and helped them win the league title (twice) and other silverware. n
