People’s Tribunal

People deserve an unconditional apology

Listen to this article

Dear judge Mbadwa,

My lord, I don’t know whether to start by laughing or crying over the turn of events in Nyasaland in just under 48 hours. There is the issue of the devaluation of the Nyasaland currency and that of the late Northern Rhodesia president, Mayikolo Sata.

Firstly, my lord, let me put it on record that that group that wanted to seal Marita’s office, which abused your name of Mbadwa, should be arraigned for bringing your name into disrepute.

We know true citizens cannot lick the boots of enablers of corruption now that it is clear who has been sponsoring the group and all those anti-Marita’s demonstrations.

Any act of perpetuating impunity should be condemned at all cost and in fact sellouts should answer a crime against humanity for siding with people who are alleged to have milked Nyasaland dry.

You asked my lord whether I am surprised at the turn of events? Not at all, as I said, the systematic and well-coordinated onslaught against Marita could only come from powerful people with skeletons in their cupboards.

My lord, I have been consistent in stating that some people in the current Tokha are Liars government and in the opposition quake in their boots every time Marita’s name is mentioned; hence, they wanted to get rid of her at all cost.

Now come to think how the change of fortunes has painted some people as cartoons after telling all and sundry that Tokha is as clean as a whistle.

I have that ill-fated press briefing in mind and I want, my lord, to ask the two poor souls: Who sent you to exonerate Tokha in this issue?

The people of Nyasaland deserve an apology for lying to them about this issue and for giving them false hope that this time talk would not be cheap. Did you address the media of your accord and out of ignorance or were you sent by someone?

This is my simple advice; get back to the same people you lied to about corruption and apologise profusely either that you were misled or you wanted to deflect the narrative that Tokha is heavily compromised.

If there is any modicum of integrity left in somebody in government, this would be a right thing to do.

The toxic praise singers of the Tokha

Are Liars are some group that needs sobering up, too. These hand-clappers don’t want to question any excesses of the leaders they blindly support. Good leaders should always be accountable to the people they lead and should be questioned when they are not promoting the aspirations of the people.

My lord, I will defer my comment on the devaluation for now apart from saying that good economic policies are just as good or as bad as the people governing.

Regards,

John Citizen
