Police arrest 3 over Briton’s murder

Investigations into the murder of British investor Allan Fay in Mzuzu have led to the arrest of three people, including his wife Tina Kamanga.

The Briton, eulogised as a sociable person by many, was found dead in a bush about 100 metres away from his Lake View Lodge in Musongwe on the eastern border of Mzuzu City.

Found dead last Wednesday: Fay

The body was found on Wednesday night hours after escorting lodge manager Gift Mtambo home.

The police immediately detained Mtambo and Kamanga for interrogations.

Now, they have arrested another suspect identified as Zion Chirwa by Northern Region police spokesperson Peter Kalaya.

The publicist confirmed the arrests, saying the police believe they have information regarding Fay’s murder.

He said: “The suspects are yet to be charged.

They were picked on Thursday evening and they are now in custody, but investigations are still underway.”

Mzuzu City Council spokesperson McDonald Gondwe lamented that the gruesome murder of the committed tourism investor may scare away foreign investors.

But Kalaya assured the public, including foreign investors, of security.
