Robin Ngalande not satisfied

South Africa-based lanky forward Robin Ngalande has said despite scoring his first goal for the Flames in Saturday’s one-one draw against Zimbabwe’s Warriors, he is far from being satisfied.

Ngalande’s failure to get on the score-sheet for the Flames and lack of game time at his club Bidvest Wits led to his exclusion from the Flames in the recent past and he was also not in the initial 35-member squad that was called up by coach Eddington Ng’onamo, but he stood up to be counted after being drafted into the squad and proved that he still merits Flames consideration.

He put the Flames in the lead 29 minutes into the game when he pounced on a goalkeeping error to deftly dink the ball home.

“Excited? Yes I am, obviously as this was my first goal for the senior national team, but I am not satisfied.

“My personal feeling is that I would have done better and therefore I will keep on working hard so as to impress the coaches and be part of the team,” said Ngalande.

He also expressed delight to play an entire game.

“I had doubts as to whether I would last the distance, but I did. I thank the coaching panel for giving me the chance and I promise to repay them for their faith,” said Ngalande.
