Rotaract Club of Bwaila, a sub-branch of Rotary Club of Bwaila-Lilongwe, has donated assorted items worth K1.2 million to Malingunde School for the Blind in Lilongwe to alleviate some of the challenges facing the learners.

The items included soap, sugar, maize, rice, sanitary pads, goats and cooking oil.

Speaking after the handover, Rotaract Club of Bwaila spokesperson Nusrat Nazil said the donation was part of their seven focus areas.

She said her club will continue to support the school.

“We are not stopping here. We are planning to visit the school again with more support as we want to make an ongoing initiative to ensure that the learners get the necessary support,” said Nazil.

She appealed to other well-wishers to support the school, saying it is facing many problems.
