Sadzi CCAP Church in Zomba will today lay a foundation stone for construction of a new church.

According to Reverend Kingsley Maulana, the new church is expected to cost K110 million (about $275 000).

“Our congregation is growing rendering the old church too small for over 3 000 people. Quantity surveyors have put the estimated cost of the new church at K110 million and we are hopeful that well-wishers will come in to assist.

“We already have some money to start with the project which we raised through Paper Sundays, sales of church cloth, and from well-wishers.

“We will also diversify our fundraising activities to reach out to as many well-wishers as possible in order to achieve our goal,” said Maulana.

He said the church has invited government officials, traditional leaders, various denominations and business-people for the function.

“We need to give respect to God by having a spacious temple for His worshipping. In addition, we also would like to reflect the status of Zomba City by building structures befitting the city,” said Maulana.
