Silver Strikers and Be Forward Wanderers yesterday set the hype for tomorrow’s potentially explosive Fisd Challenge Cup final at Bingu National stadium in Lilongwe with a flurry of mind games.

The Central Bankers team manager S’busiso Padambo set the ball rolling yesterday, saying: “We are in party mood, remember Christmas is just around the corner.

“We are waiting for our visitors [Wanderers] to help us celebrate the party because our chances of winning are 100 percent.”

He said the cup will be a timely Christmas present for their fans.

The Bankers and the Nomads last met in a cup final last year at the same venue in the Airtel Top 8 in which Silver won 10-9 via post-match penalties.

Silver went into camp yesterday and Padambo said all the players are fit and sound.

“No pressure, we are at home. We are ready. The Christmas party starts tomorrow [today] at the stadium.”

His Nomads counterpart Stevie Madeira said they cannot afford to lose a consecutive cup final to the Central Bankers.

“Yes, we lost but penalties are like lottery. We respect them and everything they are doing seems to be bearing fruits and heading into the right direction.

“But for this one, I’m sorry to say they have to wait. We want it more and we want it badly. Their board will understand if they lose because they are on a rebuilding phase but not ours,” he said.

Nomads veteran midfielder Joseph Kamwendo, whose wedding is on Boxing Day—just two days after the final match—said: “Counting down for double celebration.”

FAM marketing and commercial director Limbani Matola said they have printed 30 000 tickets in total which will be sold right at the stadium.

“There will be no pre-sale of tickets,” he said.

Charges are K2 000 covered stands, K6 000 VIP, K8 000 corporate box (per seat) and K500 car park.n
