Standard Bank unveils new loan portfolios

Standard Bank plc has unveiled a new line of loan portfolios designed for wealth creation and building investment legacy for its executive banking customers.

Speaking during the unveiling of the loan facilities in Lilongwe on Friday, Standard Bank plc head of private and executive banking Joshua Banda said the financial institution is offering credit for house construction and equipment purchases, among others.

He said: “We introduce you to a repurposed offering falling under financing and bancassurance, client centricity, digital banking innovation and personalised services , among others.

“We are offering financing for your first house, car and our new shares-secured loans; Bancassurance for property protection cover, motor vehicle insurance, travel and funeral plans. On client-centricity, we strive to build long-term relationships defined by trust, confidentiality, and fidelity.”

Banda said the Malawi Stock Exchange-listed bank’s value proposition is aligned with its digital payment platforms which is matched with technologies to automate and digitise transactions and access to services.

In her remarks, Standard Bank plc executive head of personal and private banking Charity Mughogho said personalised services are critical to ensure that the banking services respond to personal tastes and preferences in financial services.

She said: “In addition to these offerings, we are proud to extend our financial fitness academy; a free financial wellness programme designed to empower employees and executives alike with practical skills in budgeting, saving, and investing.

“Through FFA, we partner with organisations to deliver tailored financial literacy sessions that build financially confident teams and improve workplace productivity. Complementing this initiative is the What Matters App, also available for free.”

Standard Bank plc is one of the five banks listed on the 16-counter MSE.
