Super League of Malawi (Sulom) president Innocent Bottomani has said despite his busy schedule, he is working on ensuring that Mzuzu United and other clubs in the Northern Region remain afloat in the top-flight league.

In an exclusive interview with The Nation on Monday, Bottomani appealed to the committee running Mzuzu United and others that suffer financial hiccups to be sharing notes on how they can raise funds for their clubs.

He said it is risky to only rely on sponsors.

wanted to find out from the Sulom president’s plans for clubs in the Northern Region, where he is now based as deputy commissioner of police.

Bottomani said he is working on plans to help keep the already few Northern Region teams [Moyale Barracks and Mzuzu United] in the Super League.

“I am dreaming in colour about a private stadium to help clubs generate funds. I also want to see the clubs motivating their players and staying long in the Super League,” he said.
