Presidential Cup national draw on today

The Presidential Cup national draw will be held today (Thursday) morning at FAM offices in Chiwembe from 10.30am.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions officer Gomezgani Zakazaka on Thursday said all the teams that qualified for the round of 16 and the media are encouraged to attend the event.

Outlining the procedure of the draw, Zakazaka said: “All the teams will be put in a pot to come up with the eight fixtures to take place during the weekend of June 15-16.”

He said the organising committee has since disqualified Ntelo and Kasungu Police after finding them guilty of causing the abandonment of their games against Chinangwa Madrid and Epac respectively.

Zakazaka also said the remaining round of 16 qualification matches between Azam Tigers and Chanco and Silver versus Epac will be played on Saturday in Zomba and Lilongwe respectively.

The following is the list of teams that have made it into the round of 16: Southern Region: Mighty Wanderers, Chinamwali FC, Big Bullets, Chinangwa Madrid, Cobbe Barracks, Red Lions and Azam Tigers/Chanco; Central Region: Kamuzu Barracks, Mikundi, Blue Eagles, Mafco and Silver/Epac; Northern Region: Moyale, Kabwafu, Karonga United and Mzuzu United.
