Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Division One pacesetters Surestream Academy at the weekend recovered from their recent humiliation to massacre Stone Bullets 8-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

Relief was the prevalent feeling in the academy outfit’s camp as they suffered their first league defeat [0-4] at the hands of Chinangwa Madrid last week.

Their technical adviser Patricio Kulemeka hailed his charges for picking themselves up to recover from that loss.

“It was not going to be easy to recover after that comprehensive defeat, but I am happy that the boys put all that aside and started afresh,” said Kulemeka.

Surestream have now shot to 43 points from 16 games, having won 14, drawn once and lost once as well. They have two games before they wind up the first round.

They comfortably led 4-0 at half-time. Trevor Kalema, Isaac Mwale, Ernest Tambe, Levi Maganizo, captain Mike Mkwate (2), Patience Khamula and Talekeni Joseph were on target for Surestream while Gift Damba netted the consolation goal for Bullets.

Blantyre ADD are still on second position with 34 points from 17 games having thrashed Superior 6-2 while Luchenza Tea Stars are third on 29 points from 17 games.
