All is set for the premiere of Tauka Arts Theatre’s Precedented Catastrophe slated for December 1 at Nanzikambe Arts Theatre in Naperi.

The production centres on the current issues happening in Malawi—from politics, social problems apart from preaching against greed and selfishness especially among politicians.

Tauka Arts Theatre director Precious Denja says the play is aimed at educating.

“However, it is our tradition as drama merchants to put some interesting factors in the plays with an aim of entertaining and not just educating. This production has been done in a special way and with special features to entertain and educate our audience. I urge Malawians to come in large numbers for the performance will be like no other,” he said.

On top of stage performances, Tauka is also into radio plays. They participate in radio plays such as Theatre of the Air and Mbali Yanga which are aired on MBC Radio 1.

Precedented Catastrophe is a four-character play in which Precious Denja takes the role of minister of mining, Isaac Bonongwe is a former minister of mining and Finess Mpinji is a police woman.

The performance will also be spiced up by the Chopwicho comedies which were produced by the same group and are currently on the market.
