Mighty Wanderers insist that their international left-back Bongani Kaipa is still a Nomad despite the player’s claims that he tendered his resignation last week.

Nomads general secretary David Kanyenda on Sunday said as far as they are concerned, the player has not quit.

“What I can say is that Bongani is still our player because we have not received a letter to the effect that he has resigned,” said Kanyenda.

Kaipa, who until recently was the only player from the blue side of town featuring regularly for the national team, on Sunday insisted that he had thrown in the towel.

“I tendered in my resignation last week, but I am not comfortable to divulge the reasons for my decision.

“The reasons are contained in my letter. Ndiye ziri kwa iwowo kunyozera [so, it is up to them to ignore it]. If you ask the general secretary [ Kanyenda], I am sure he should be able to tell you,” said Kaipa.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the 19-year-old blossoming defender is frustrated for being reduced to a sideshow in the recent games.

He also dismissed suggestions that the move will affect his form since he can only make a switch when the transfer window reopens after the first-round.

Kaipa, who was linked with a possible move to Silver Strikers at the start of the season, also denied renewing his intention to join the Bankers.

“I have no such plans at the moment,” he said.
