Beatitude Naturopathy and Wellness Centre in Blantyre has organised a week-long back pain awareness and alignment for people with persistent back pain conditions.

In an interview yesterday, the centre’s director Francis Malunga said they will provide free lectures and treatment to people with back pain issues from October 30 to November 5 2023.

He said: “We will have back alignment procedure for those with back pain using naturopathic methods.

“They will only need to pay a consultation fee of K20 000, otherwise, we will not charge for the actual treatment of back pain.”

Malunga distinguished naturopathy and wellness from hospital care, stating that the former provides respect for natural healing processes while empowering the individual to take responsibility for their own health process.

Malunga: Treatment will be free

James Mbendera, a Blantyre resident, said he was looking forward to attending the free lectures.

“These are lessons that people need to learn. I think it is important to develop a culture of seeking care or consultations when one sees signs or symptoms of diseases,” he said.

World Health Organisation (WHO) says 619 million people suffered low back pain in 2020 and it is estimated that the number will increase to 843 million by 2050.

The organisation further says low back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide and it is a condition for which many will require rehabilitation.

Beatitude Naturopathy and Wellness Centre recently relocated from Balaka to Manase, Blantyre to serve more people looking for naturopathic treatment.
