Zeze Kingston in ‘surprise’ shows

End of year festivities may be over, but not entirely.  And amapiano star Zeze Kingston just proved that when he led a CapeStars Club Storm on Friday night.

Revellers at top entertainment joints RSVP, Stake Out Bar by the Amaryllis Hotel and Blues Bar in Blantyre were taken by surprise by the unscripted appearance of the Chule hitmaker. His first stop was at RSVP. The artist was accompanied by his production team comprising DJ Drew and producer Leumus.

Although it was not a performance event, Zeze Kingston was given the chance to get the microphone and within the given space of time he transformed the atmosphere into a frenzy.

The Lilongwe-based artist used the platform to announce Go Go Go CapeStars Dance Challenge which has been inspired by his latest song Go Go Go. During his cameo, Zeze Kingston performed the Go Go Go song to the amusement of the patrons.

After the surprise appearance at RSVP, Zeze Kingston and team headed to Stake Out Bar where the artist enjoyed the support of his fellow artists such as rapper Gwamba, Hyphen and his wife Tina Kendricks, Kell Kay, Tuno and television personality Priscilla Kayira who were in attendance.

His fellow artists joined him as he performed the Go Go Go dance and the place suddenly transformed into ecstasy. The patrons who performed well in the dance challenge won various items such as CapeStars T-shirts and caps.

His last stop was at Blues Bar where DJ Drew was at his usual best as he did his magic on the decks to lay the field for Zeze Kingston’s performance. The artist performed songs from his latest release For The Streets Volume 2.

The mood at the bar went four notches higher with his performance and when he stepped off, the patrons were yearning for more.

CapeStars marketing officer Madalitso Maliro said the Go Go Go CapeStars Dance Challenge is meant to facilitate an engagement with their customers and appreciate the art of dancing.

“We want to promote the spirit of friendship using the creativity of music and leveraging on technology to give the market larger than life fun,” he said.

As part of the challenge, people are expected to mimick Zeze Kingston’s video and share it on social media. The winners will be determined by the number of likes the videos receive.

Every week, an individual or team will win a bottle of CapeStars alcoholic spirits of their choice and the best video of the month will win three bottles of CapeStars. The top winner at the end of three months will receive K500 000 and a CapeStars party package.
