Continental Capital Limited Promotes Education Sector

Continental Capital Limited has partnered with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences to provide tuition scholarships to two students, totaling K2 million, to support their academic journey towards excellence in Nursing and Midwifery at the University.

The presentation of scholarships to a first-year male student and a third-year female student took place today at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences’ Lilongwe campus.

During the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony, Kenneth Mmadi, General Manager of Continental Capital Limited, said that CCL will provide full tuition scholarships to two students every academic year. “This investment in education is an investment in our future, recognizing that the well-being of our communities depends on the skills and dedication of healthcare professionals.”

He added, “This representation marks the beginning of a new chapter that brings hope, opportunity, and growth for the deserving students of this esteemed institution, empowering individuals to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to society.”

Mmadi emphasized that CCL has continuously strived to serve the community and provide access to opportunities for financial growth through capital market investments since 2008, promoting financial inclusion and socioeconomic advancement in Malawi.

In an interview, one of the CCL beneficiaries, Emmanuel Banda, expressed gratitude for the scholarship, saying it will help him achieve his dreams and uplift the nation. “Students face various challenges at the University, including lack of tuition fees, accommodation fees (K95,000), and basic materials like laptops and phones. We are grateful for CCL’s effort in partnering with KUHeS to cover our tuition fees, which was a significant challenge for our parents.”

The Director of Student Affairs for KUHeS, Dr. Benjamin Kumwenda, encouraged the scholars to work hard and achieve their objectives. “The vision of KUHeS is to be a world-class innovative university committed to scholarly and professional excellence in health education, research, and services in Malawi and globally. This partnership will be essential in achieving our goal.”

Kumwenda advised the scholars to use the support wisely, saying, “Work hard and complete your studies. That is how you can thank Continental Capital. It is not meant for you to indulge in unnecessary activities, but to support your academic pursuits.

It is not meant for you to go drinking, or enticing vulnerable girls into sex, neither is it meant for you to attract boys start falling pregnant. It is meant to support you, support the purposes you are carrying.”
