Binauli wins Mr Zomba body building contest

Emmanuel Binauli saw off challengers to win the inaugural K540 000 Mr. Zomba Bodybuilding Competition at Mulunguzi Cottage on Thursday evening.
Binauli received K100 000. Former Presidential weightlifting champion Thoko Kakhongwe came second to receive K60 000 while third-placed Fred Maseya received K40 000.
“I am happy to be crowned the first champion of this event. This great feeling has fired me up to work even harder next year to retain the title,” said Binauli.
However, Mr. Malawi contest runner-up Yasin Ichocho Suwedi, who was the guest of honour, was the toast of the day as he entertained fans with his flamboyant display of bodybuilding poses and techniques.
According to Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi (Wbam) Eastern Region Committee general secretary Bright Limani, they were satisfied with the turnout.
WT Food Zone and Mervin Auto Parts sponsored the contest by contributing K310 000 and K230 000 respectively. n
