Chileka reggae outfit Black Missionaries on Friday finished their performances in the United Kingdom.

After performing at the Miss Malawi-Ireland last week, the Kuimba proponents finished with a show at the Garda Club in Dublin, Ireland, according to band leader Anjiru Fumulani.

“We promise to do it all over again tonight for Malawians in Ireland and Europe in general. We thank the organizers of Miss Malawi-Ireland and the Malawi Ireland Association for inviting us here and for organizing the shows,” said Fumulani on Friday.

The Blacks left for Ireland earlier this month, after President Joyce Banda provided air tickets and upkeep allowances for the group.

With a 10 Euro (about K4 400) ticket, according to one of the show organisers Jubeda Maxwell, patrons were billed to enjoy Black missionaties and Anthony Makondetsa’s music.

Their performances came hot on the heels of shows by another Malawian artiste, Lulu, who arrived back home last week.

  1. Can we have The Blacks actually play in the UK please. Eire is not in the UK. If the Blacks need any venue contacts to play in Scotland I can arrange as can the Scotland Malawi Partnership. Come back soon.
