The Ndirande Kachere CCAP Church on Christmas Day gave a special treat to long-serving members and the poor in the township.

Moderator of the church Reverend Enos Muhiwa said the congregation presented certificates to long-serving members as one way of recognising their contributions towards God’s work.

“Every society has its own history and as a church we cannot forget where we came from and who have been there for us to get where we are today. These people have contributed a lot towards the success of the church.

“The honour we are bestowing on them will also encourage the current leaders to work hard,” said Muhiwa.

Apart from presenting certificates of recognition to 130 long-serving members, the church also donated Christmas gifts to poor people from various religious backgrounds.

Anderson Ngwira, one of the people honoured during the occasion, thanked the church for recognising their contributions to the church.

“We are very excited and honoured by the recognition,” said Ngwira.
