Centenary Bank donates K3m for Icam lakeshore conference

Centenary Bank Limited has donated K3 million to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (Icam) for the organisation of its annual lakeshore conference to be held in Mangochi from Thursday.

The three-day conference will be held under the theme ‘Creating value, building a sustainable economy towards Malawi 2063 at Sun ‘N’ Sand Holiday Resort.

In a statement, Centenary Bank marketing and customer experience manager Lindani Nkosi said they are happy to be re-kindling their partnership with Icam.

She said the bank has introduced systems to make financial management easier for schools and guardians and also made it easier to open accounts with a simplified onboarding process.

Said Nkosi: “We are excited to share these banking innovations with Icam and to support your financial mission. All these innovations directly align with the theme of this year’s conference.”

Icam president Moffat Ngalande is quoted in the statement as having thanked Centenary Bank for the financial support.

He commended the bank for its innovative payment methods, which have garnered interest from Icam.

“Centenary Bank plays a pivotal role in the country’s economy and is a very critical partner,” he said.

The conference, whose keynote speaker is National Planning Commission director general Thomas Chataghalala Munthali, is expected to bring together more than 1 300 delegates.
