National Football Coaches Association (NFCA) says it will honour FCB Nyasa Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa for his achievements and the role he has played in the country’s football development.

The Zimbabwean tactician is on the verge of achieving a quadruple and has won five consecutive TNM Super League titles since he took charge of the People’s Team.

Has shone brightly for Bullets: Pasuwa

NFCA chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni was quoted by Zoadiak Broadcasting Station yesterday as having said that the former Zimbabwe national football team and Dynamos FC gaffer deserves special recognition.

He said: “He has done well. Apart from his achievements with Bullets, Pasuwa has also helped develop talent and some of the players he has groomed are doing well for the national team.

“So, we are planning to honour him in a special way.”

Nankhuni said Pasuwa also deserves to be recognised for his discipline.

He said: “He is a role model in the way he conducts himself both on and off the pitch and local coaches need to learn from him.

“As an association, we have not had problems with him nor has he been involved in unnecessary confrontations with match officials and for that, he deserves respect.”

Pasuwa could not be reached for comment, but Bullets chief administration officer Albert Chigoga described the coaches body’s move as a welcome development.

He said: “It is wonderful news. The facts and statistics of his scintillating performance as a coach and tactician speak for themselves.

“We are proud of Kallisto for his impeccable record.”

This season, Pasuwa has won the league, FDH Bank Cup and the Ibongetse Castel Challenge Cup.

Prior to joining Bullets, Pasuwa also won four successive  Zimbabwean Premier League titles with Dynamos FC.

There have been reports linking the 53-year-old coach with some top teams in South Africa and Uganda, but Chigoga insisted in an interview early this week that he is going nowhere as he still has a running contract up to December 31 2024.
