I have been domesticated
Dear BMW,
I think in this world, some of our upbringing or the privilege we had in early life comes to haunt us big time.
BMW, if I say I was born with a silver spoon in my life, I would not be far from the truth. I even went to those cherished high schools people like to boast about.
This means I started going out clubbing with my friends at an early age, too. I actually met my man, some guy who climbed up the ladder of his career by sheer hard work.
Despite having everything, the man is conservative and a villager at best. He doesn’t want me to go out with friends for a glass of wine or two. He has clearly domesticated me.
BMW, is this the meaning of marriage or I have just become a sex slave? Should I leave this guy?
Natasha, Zomba
Dear Natasha,
In the first place, you do not say where you met this man. Actually, it appears you only fell for him for his money.
Certainly, this man did not fall from the skies to pop the question. If you didn’t get to know him before marrying him, you have yourself to blame to realise that ngwa chimidzi, a total villager as you put it.
It is apparent that you guys are lines that will not meet, like the length of a rectangle.
You are being naïve to think you are just a sex slave. What unites you? It can’t be that you are only united under the sheets for you to think yourself a sex slave.
Look at what you guys have in common. If it is the clubbing that brings the rig between you two, look into it. The man is not wrong. If he is a teetotaler like me, I would not allow you to go clubbing.
And, by the way, you are grown and surely must shed some of the habits that painted your youth. You can go on with your life without clubbing. Learn to grow up.
Who do you want to go clubbing with? Why?
Otherwise, the silver spoon in your mouth will rust when the man dumps you. NOTE: You can now send your problems to BMW via WhatsApp number: +265 888-209-027. No calls please!
