One, two, three! Count that! Mike Kalulu surely made the Nico Life Insurance Company golf title his own after emerging the champion for a third consecutive time at Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday.

His 38 points, in a tournament played under individual stableford format, surpassed all.

“It feels good to win this competition for a third time. I just urge my fellow golfers to pull up your socks if you want to take the title from me next year,” he joked in his victory speech.

Noel Lipipa was the runner-up. He counted out Thakor Sanjey after tying on 37 points.

In ladies category, Tigist Michael came tops with 36 points while Puthi Mukoka came second with 35 points.

An excited Michael said: “It was an amazing tournament. I was so composed today, that is why maybe I was able to score.”

Nico Life chief executive officer Eric Chapola described the tournament as a success, having seen over 80 golfers taking to the course.

“We are here every year because we get much support from the golfers. Apart from playing golf, it was also an opportunity for us to interact with our customers and prospective ones,” he said.
