Malawi national women football team captain Chisomo Kazisonga has signed a two-year contract with a Zimbabwe team Conduit Soccer Academy (Cosa).

Cosa, a Guruve-based team, plays in that country’s national women super league, which has 10 teams.

Kazisonga plays for Skippers. Her elder sister Julia and Skippers coach Layton Mangani have confirmed the news.

The former DD Sunshine defender is expected to leave the country on Saturday by road.

“All is set for me to play professional soccer in Zimbabwe. My international clearance and work permit are out,” she said.

She also said she was signed after excelling in a week’s trials she underwent in March.

In confirming Kazisonga’s trip, Mangani said her departure will affect the team’s performance in the Presidential Cup race. Julia said she is optimistic about Chisomo representing Malawi well on and off the pitch.

On social network Facebook page called Zimbabwe National Women Super League, Cosa technical director Actimu Chatyoka said the signing of Kazisonga would bolster their chance of a top four finish.
