Mulanje district commissioner (DC) Stallichi Mwambiwa has advised his Machinga counterpart Rosemary Nawasha to involve all stakeholders in project implementation.

He said this on Saturday during a meeting with Machinga District Council secretariat and councillors in Mulanje District.

Mwambiwa said Mulanje District has been outstanding in the implementation of projects, especially under the Governance to Enable Service Delivery (Gesd) due to team work among stakeholders.

He said: “We have emerged as the best district during the 2021 Local Authority Performance Assessment results due to our hard working spirit and team work.

“We have been coordinating well with stakeholders, including politicians.”

Mwambiwa also said councillors should be development-conscious and should support district development goals.

On her part, Nawasha said through the meeting they learnt many things from their Mulanje counterparts.

She expressed optimism that Machinga will perform well in the next Local Authority Performance Assessment.

“We must appreciate the good work you are doing in Mulanje. We have come to learn from you on how you have managed to come to during the last assessment,” said Nawasha.

Machinga District Council officials visited Mulanje District to learn how their counterparts are using Gesd funds to implement projects.
