External auditing firm PWC donated 10 first-aid kits worth over K450 000 (US$1 097) to the National Youth Football Committee (NYFC) on Wednesday.

PWC audit manager Watson Kanyenda said they decided to help after noting that the committee was running its regional leagues without that important equipment.

“We are devoted to improving young football talent. We felt bad when we noticed that players were not adequately treated when they got injured on the pitch,” said Kanyenda who was accompanied by the firm’s human resources manager, Maureen Mathandalizwe.

NYFC treasurer, Tiyenkhu Chavula, thanked PWC for the timely donation which he said will be distributed to Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe, Dedza, Mzuzu and Nkhata Bay districts.
