SandFest unveils CapeStars as official 2026 sponsor
he 2026 Sand Music Festival (SandFest) has unveiled HS Winehouse Hospitality and Beverage company, through its alcoholic spirits brand CapeStars, as the official platinum sponsor for the entertainment fiesta.
CapeStars general manager Darlingtone Ndasauka said in an interview that as a brand built on socialisation and bringing people together, they want to create a space where Malawians and tourists can unwind, connect and engage in positive conversations.

“Festival-goers can expect upgraded stages, CapeStars-branded hospitality zones and new activations designed to attract music and fun lovers across the country and the region. This edition promises expanded entertainment, lifestyle experiences and community engagement,” he said.
Ndasauka said for them, their alignment with the Sand Music Festival is personal since the directors of CapeStars were crucial in the formative years of the festival as they worked closely with Impakt Events Management founder and director ‘Soldier’ Lucius Banda.
“It is a partnership rooted in history. It’s a return to where it began. We want to ensure Soldier’s legacy lives on and that his dream is realised. CapeStars is stepping in to carry that vision forward,” he said.
Impakt Events Management, organisers of Sand Music Festival said the sponsorship is a long-term agreement to grow the festival into one of Southern Africa’s premier beach music events.
Impakt Events Management lead coordinator Yamikani Chinguwo said the partnership aligns with its goal of delivering world-class experiences while giving back to local communities.
“Having a proud Malawian brand like CapeStars standing with us as the official platinum sponsor sends a powerful message that local businesses believe in the power of live music, culture and community gatherings,” he said.
Chinguwo said the support will help them keep SandFest growing while staying true to its roots of promoting Malawian music and entertainment culture. He said preparations are on course ahead of the event and more announcements are expected this week.
“The venue was secured. A couple sponsors are also coming in who will be announced this week and we are now finalising on the artists’ line-up. Ticket prices will also be announced this week,” he said.
The festival makes a return after a two-year absence since the death of Impakt Events Management founder ‘Soldier’ Lucius Banda. The event is expected from September 25 to 27 at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.
