Shammah Vocals ready with second album

Gospel artist Shammah Vocals says work on his second album Asamala Yehova is almost through.

The 10-track album is a follow up to his successful 2015 debut release No Reverse which has earned the musician rave reviews.

Shammah: It has been hectic

So far, four singles from the yet-to-be released album are enjoying airplay. The hits are My Zoe, Grateful For You, Excellence and Muyende Nane which was released last Monday. The artist said eight out of the 10 songs have been completed.

Shammah said: “It has been hectic but out of hard work and God’s grace we have managed to make the best list.”

The artist has revealed that he has worked with different producers to maximise on variety in the production. Some of the producers he has worked with are Gresham Mokoena of Ituma Production, Jay Emm of 97records and OBK. 

“I can assure my fans that this album is everything. I have fused every song with an African flavour and it contains different genres,” he said.

Shammah will release the album under the management of Nthanda Artwork. The management firm says the artist has made progress from his debut release.

Evans Chibade of Nthanda Artwork said: “His stage presentation has improved tremendously and he has grown as an artist looking at the way he is handling the business aspect of art. We hope that this album will supersede the success of his first release.”

Zathu introduces new character, enters third year

Zathu Pa Wailesi, a weekly youth drama series has introduced a new character Joji as the programme enters its third year.

In a statement, the producers said the new character is set to wow its audience with yet another season of thrills, laughter and drama.

“Season 5 of Zathu will hit the airwaves on July 22 with the exciting introduction of a new character,” reads the statement in part.

It says George aka Jijo “the Joker” is a 17-year-old Form Four self-boarding student at Mamzoli Secondary School who is street smart and intelligent.

“I do what I have to do to get things done,” says Joji.

However, he is also mischievous and treads on the edges of the law one too many times throughout Season 5.

According to the statement in the new season, other popular characters of the series remain.

Zathu series air on MBC Radio 2 three times a week.

Zathu is a branded media initiative created to inspire, inform and connect girls and boys to services they need, and to take action to change their lives.

The series comprises a radio show Zathu Pa Wailesi,  Zathu magazine, music and music videos from Zathu Band and a youth clubs network across the country.
