Despite several power hitches characterising the launch of Ethel Kamwendo-Banda’s Zabwino Zonse and Chete CD and live DVD at the Robin’s Park in Blantyre on Sunday afternoon, some patrons described the show as a success.

There were a lot of stoppages at the beginning of the show due to power cuts. According to both Kamwendo-Banda and electricians at the venue, the power cuts were caused by socket problems.

However, despite the stoppages and the show going at a charge of K1 000 compared to the usual K500 and K700 respectively, patrons continued to throng into the venue.

Fortunately, the problem was solved after few artists performed.

Except for Thocco Katimba who excused himself for some work in South Africa, Favoured Martha, Maggie Mangani, Ndirande Anglican Voices, Mighty POV and Faith Mussa made it to the show and dished their best.

“I was disappointed by the power cuts, but was confident the problem would be solved. I follow Kamwendo-Banda and I know she prepares well,” said Gloria Masule.

Some patrons said they were attracted by the artists on the list and the fact that they have never been disappointed by Kamwendo-Banda.

The artist performed almost all the songs in the album including popular hits.
