The Lilongwe and Districts Darts League (LDDL) has secured a K250 000 (about $625) sponsorship.

LDDL general secretary James Sangala disclosed the sponsorship from Centurion Guest House owned by Amos Tizola on Thursday.

“As a league we are very excited to have secured the sponsorship which is running on a home and away basis and we invite more well-wishers to emulate the good example of Centurion management in sponsoring the sport,” said Sangala who is not related to the footballer.

He also disclosed that the Deekay Suppliers LDDL season got underway on May 1 with City Glass currently leading on 10 points followed by Black Arrows on five.

Meanwhile, the league is also focusing on the Presidential Initiative on Sports regional games whose finals were played on June 8 and 9 at Kamuzu Institute for Sports where 11 teams were divided into two groups.

Mafco and Capital Glass qualified for the national finals scheduled for June 29 and 30 at Capital City Motel.
