Super Sakuwa Steel Limited on Sunday engaged with members of the Builders and Carpentry Association of Malawi (Bacam) to enhance and solidify their partnership.

According to Dick Juma, the marketing manager of Super Sakuwa Steel Limited, expressed that it is the members of the association who interact with their various clients.

“It is critical to engage them in our activities; however, sidelining them would result in a loss of business opportunities. This allows us to align with one of the government’s key enablers of Vision 2063, emphasizing the need for the country to possess high-quality infrastructure,” he said.

Juma further stated that the engagement will empower Bacam members to bring more clients and strengthen the partnership.

Ministry of Labor chief trade testing officer for central region Anthony Kamtema views the collaboration between Super Sakuwa Steel Limited and Bacam as a positive development that will contribute to the production of high-quality work.

He said: “We advocate for individuals to exchange their skills and enhance their craftsmanship. The ministry is in close collaboration with them, ensuring that we guide their required actions.

“Most members of Bacam lack formal qualifications. As a ministry, we have established a certification process specifically for builders, carpenters, and other trades. This initiative aims to ensure their recognition when they pursue employment opportunities or contracts.”

On his part, the chairperson for Bacam Mulubiwa Anthony expressed that the interaction provided valuable insights on ways to strengthen the association and enhance the growth of their businesses.
